SELLERS AT MAKER FESTIVAL
A small number of hand-picked makers and creators have been selected to exhibit and sell their crafts and products at London Maker Festival 2024:
DAISY – SILVER & GOLD JEWELRY

My name is Daisy and I’m a designer and make silver and gold jewelry as a side hustle. I have a wide range of influences from historic jewelry to modern machinery. I am continually fascinated by the challenge of reinventing classic jewellery pieces through form texture and movement.
I have been making silver jewellery for a long time but the South London maker space has inspired me to make again. It has been very inspiring to see the range of projects other members are working on. The space covers so many specialisms and different materials and the open atmosphere has made it easy to learn about new skills and techniques.

SNAIL VALLEY BY LEAH THOMAS

Welcome to Snail Valley! I’m Leah, and Snail Valley is my small business where I get to make things that make me happy, and hopefully bring joy to others too! I love to make things that are colourful, magical, and fun.
My business journey started a few months ago, when I started making stickers at home and selling them online. Joining the South London Makerspace has enabled me to branch out and use tools that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to access, like the laser cutter. Because of this I’m now working on making the jewellery and accessories I’ve been dreaming of! It’s not just the tools in the space though– it’s also full of friendly, welcoming, and talented makers. They all have so much experience and wisdom to share, and it’s a privilege to be alongside them!

I take pride in using traditional techniques combined with modern technology to bring my visions to life using reclaimed materials whenever possible.

KPJSTUDIO Makes printed statement homeware and unique custom accessories for pattern loving people. Kate is a surface pattern designer from Herefordshire. She’s lived in London for over 5 years and works in textile design and print. Find unique gifts and homeware that can be personalised. Made from original detailed hand-drawn illustrations printed and engraved by Kate. She also offers custom engraved wood and acrylic surfaces for furniture upcycling projects!
Since becoming a member of the Makersspace I’ve been able to get back into laser cutting and engraving. I love to draw and turn my designs into repeating patterns. Recently I’ve been engraving surfaces for homeware, accessories, and fashion using interesting materials such as mirror acrylic, denim & wood. The space has allowed me to sample new materials and product ideas as well as revisit old favourites. Being around other creative people makes it a great environment to make stuff, from sharing ideas to talking about how to finish a project and also finding out what else the space has to offer. Products I’ve been working on include engraved earrings, keyrings, coasters & phone cases as well as custom furniture & fashion upcycling projects.
